About this Event
Las Posadas Navideñas—The Christmas Inns—is a nine-day religious observance meant to honor Mary and Joseph's quest for shelter. Every night from Dec. 16-24, neighbors gather to recreate the Holy Family's experience. They dress up, sing, pray and celebrate the coming anniversary of the Savior's birth. After every Posada people gather at a big party with Tamales, Champurrado drink and the Piñata. For desserts you will see Buñuelos and warm cinnamon rice pudding.
Metzy's has decided to host a dinner this December 17th, to honor and observe the Las Posadas Navideñas with a fun and engaging meal. Tickets can be purchased until December 12th at the Cantina, or for a slight added fee, tickets can be purchased here on Eventbrite until our tickets are sold out (we are selling a limited # of tickets, so buy now!).
The event will start at 6:00 and will go until 8:00pm. Early arrivers will enjoy a welcome drink and chips/guac station for self serving. We will ask everyone to sit at 6:30 to start serving dinner and get the 1st tequila tasting started. We will be offering three tequilas throughout the evening in which Jason Petrou will be giving detailed explanations/ information related to the tequilas.

Filet Garnachas
Oyster Shooter
Verde Chicken Pozole
Tamales Two Ways-Red Pork and Poblano and Cheese
Churro Sopapilla Pie
The following people will have special roles for the night of the Dinner:
Rosa Garza - our local friend, colleague and collaborator has helped us develop the menu and has also helped guide us to made the dinner culturally on-point. Rosa will be making the tamales for the dinner and will be involved in a couple of other recipes for the dinner. She will also to speak to our Guests the night of the dinner, and will help explain to our guests the cultural significances of the holiday.
Jason Petrou - “Agave Spirits Educator”, aka “Tequila expert”, will be educating our Dinner Guests on various pairings and tequila tastings that night.
Sean Lyons, our Head Chef, will handle all of the planning and execution of plating the dinner, along with his amazing Back of House Team.
