Event Date & Time: Saturday, November 23rd, 2024 | 7:30 PM - 10:00 PM (Full Moon)
Location: Undisclosed Location, Cambridge, MA (location shared upon registration)
Ticket Price: $55 per person | Limited to 10 participants
Join us for an intimate and soulful evening dedicated to exploring grief, sharing memories, and connecting over the art and culture of loss. This Death Salon, limited to 10 participants, offers a safe space to engage in meaningful conversation and reflection around personal experiences with grief.
Upon arrival, you’ll be welcomed into a serene environment with soft ambient lighting and music to set a contemplative yet comfortable tone. Light refreshments, including tasteful canapés and finger foods, will be provided throughout the evening. Think of it as a gentle social experience—nothing heavy, just nourishment for the body and soul.
Throughout the evening, we’ll rotate through a variety of sharing opportunities:
• Grief Poetry Sharing: Bring a poem or a piece of writing that resonates with your experience of grief. We’ll listen, reflect, and appreciate together.
• Discussion of Grief in Current Events: We’ll discuss a recent news story or cultural event that highlights grief in public or personal life, drawing connections between our own stories and the broader world.
• Sharing Favorite Memories or Music: Participants are encouraged to share a song or memory that holds meaning in their journey with loss.
• Practical Grief Exercises: We’ll explore exercises like creating a burn box, a symbolic way to let go of physical items connected to a lost loved one. We’ll also open up a conversation around difficult decisions like how to handle sentimental items or rituals like scattering ashes.
Each participant will be asked a guiding question upon registration: “What is one aspect of grief you’re struggling with, or an area where you could use support?” This will help shape our conversations and ensure each person’s unique journey is honored and supported.
What You’ll Experience:
• A space for deep connection with others who are navigating grief
• Opportunities to share your story, listen, and be heard in a compassionate environment
• Guidance on how to move through grief with rituals, exercises, and support
• Information about the upcoming Beauty of Grief membership platform, offering ongoing resources and support for those looking to deepen their grief journey beyond in-person events
This Death Salon is designed for those seeking soulful, heartfelt conversations about grief—whether you’re in the early stages of loss or have been carrying grief for years. Together, we’ll explore the complex, sometimes beautiful path of moving through grief.
This is a small, intimate gathering designed to foster deep connection and reflection.
• Registration Question: Upon sign-up, please answer the following: What is one thing you need help with in your grief journey? (e.g., letting go of belongings, coping with reminders, etc.)
Secure your spot early, as spaces are limited and expected to fill up quickly.
This event is hosted by me, Mia Cosco, a grief support facilitator and founder of the upcoming Beauty of Grief membership platform, designed to help individuals reclaim their lives and navigate the multifaceted experience of grief.
