Death Comes to Rose Mont: A Victorian Mourning Experience

Join us in the parlor at Rose Mont for a chilling and educational step back in time. This 45-minute immersive program features a mock funeral for young William Guild, who passed away at just one year of age in the 19th century.

Guided by historical interpreters, guests will learn about the customs of death and mourning during the Victorian Era—including how bodies were prepared and preserved, mourning attire and rituals, and the deeply symbolic traditions that shaped the grieving process of the time.
