About this Event
After all, what's a life, anyway? We're born, we live a little while, we die." -E.B. White, author of Charlotte’s Web.
Death is a very emotional topic, but why is it considered so differently than our birth into this world? At a Death Cafe people, often strangers, gather to eat cake, drink tea and discuss death.
Our objective is 'to increase awareness of death with a view to helping people make the most of their (finite) lives'. During a Death Cafe, a group-directed discussion about death happens with no agenda, objectives, or themes. It is a discussion group rather than a grief support or counselling session.
Anyone can attend, whether you have experienced death or just want to ponder the inevitable next stage of life. All are welcome! No experience necessary!
Join us for this gentle and unique conversation, along with cake and tea!
Donations only.
Information about the Death Cafe Host:
Mary Jo is a Nurse Practitioner with experience as a Psychic, Medium and Energy Medicine Practitioner. Her personal experience with death comes from her first death experience working in a nursing home when she was young to experiencing the death of her father. She is interested to have these conversations because she believes they remind us and help us to live life in the present. Life is full of unexpected events. Our death, and the death of those we know and love, is probably one of the most powerful experiences we will have in our lives. Let’s talk about the various aspects that surround our feelings, experiences, thoughts and emotions about the many layers of this conversation.
