Celebrate Voice presents a new concert-play by Tessa Sheridan celebrating the genius of Mozart’s last year.Death has come for Mozart. Out of respect for his genius, the grim reaper gives him a little extra time to tie up loose ends. But Mozart can’t stop taking on new projects.
The creative whirl is conjured up through Mozart’s letters (with a few additions), and an increasingly impatient Death waiting to call time. Woven through the narrative are extracts from Die Zauberflote, La Clemenza di Tito and, of course, the Requiem.
Leading soloists from the festival join with actors and a specially-formed chorus to produce an immersive experience. This fresh take on Mozart’s much-storied last year has wit, pathos, and some of the greatest music ever written.
Come & Sing - Participate!
Be part of the experience and spend the afternoon (2.00-5.30pm) with conductor David Gostick and singers from the Bournemouth Sinfonietta Choir working on the Requiem, Ave Verum and choruses from the operas. Then, in the evening, we head to the Guildhall to join actors and Celebrate Voice opera soloists in telling the story of Mozart’s Last Year. Suitable for singers with some group singing experience. Music provided.
