Homewood Theatre will hold open auditions for "Dearly Beloved" Monday, November 11, 6:30 pm until 9:00 pm at the theatre. The cast includes 6 women and 5 men, with both lead and support roles. The characters range in age from mid-20s to mid-60s. Everyone is invited to audition. Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script.Rehearsals will begin in early January 2025 (maybe a read-through in December), and performances January 30 - February 14. This play promises to be a fun one. It's a fast-paced comedy about love, marriage, sisterhood and three hundred pounds of Texas barbeque!
Character Breakdown:
Geneva (female, 50s-60s) Florist owner; bossy and commanding. Her nickname is “General Geneva.”
Honey Raye (female, late 40s – 50s) The script says it best: “Hot, gorgeous, and completely unpredictable.”
Gina Jo (female, 20s – early 30s) Sweet, simple daughter of Frankie. Admits she has trouble building relationships. Will play a double-role as twin sister Tina Jo.
Frankie (female, late 40s – 50s) mother of the bride; practical but stressed out over the drama of planning a wedding
Dub (male, late 40s – 50s) Frankie’s husband; just a good guy
Twink (female, late 40s-50s) a middle sister; desperate to get married and has gone to great lengths to make it happen
Nelda (female, any age) the town psychic who sets things in motion
John Curtis (male, 30s-50s) local policeman... a little on the nervous side
Wiley (male, 30s-50s) Twink’s boyfriend; is “under the influence” of too many cold remedies
Justin (male, 20s-early 30s) UPS delivery guy who is studying to become a minister
Raynerd (male, 30s-50s) colorful character who LOVES weddings!
Patsy (female, late 40s-50s) mother of the groom; small-town elegant
