ANF Architects is pleased to announce the opening reception of “Dear Grandmother,” a solo exhibition by Memphis-based artist Heather Howle, on Friday, September 27th, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. The exhibition will showcase Howle’s captivating mixed media paintings and collages, exploring themes of family, memory, and the intricate connections we share with our loved ones.Heather Howle, a self-taught artist who transitioned from a career in commercial aviation to pursue her passion for art full-time, has developed a distinctive style that blends abstract multimedia painting with collage. Her work is characterized by its exploration of the relationship between pattern and color, combining lightness and airiness with an underlying sense of mystery.
“Dear Grandmother” delves into personal narratives, drawing inspiration from Howle’s reflections on her own familial relationships, particularly those with her grandmothers. Her work evokes a sense of nostalgia, weaving a visual tapestry of patterns and colors that mirror the complexities of what is known and unknown within our family histories. Through this theme, Howle invites viewers to reflect on their own connections to the past and the stories that shape their present.
So please join us for the opening of this exceptional exhibition at ANF on Friday, September 27th, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Admission is FREE, and guests can enjoy complimentary soft drinks, wine, and snacks. All pieces will be available for purchase via cash or check. If you’re unable to attend the opening, the exhibition will be open for viewing at ANF on weekdays from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm from September 27 - October 17, 2024.
