About this Event

ABOUT THE SHOW

Produced by V-Day, the global activist movement to end violence against women,

gender expansive people and the Earth, in association with the American Repertory

Theater, Dear Everything is a riveting story driven by galvanizing and emotional pop and

folk music, that speaks to the dialectic of our times—adults focused on surviving the

now, and youth with a fierce eye on the future. With empathy, complexity and outrage it

addresses the most pressing issue of our day—the climate crisis.

The piece is brought to life by a cast of ten and a narrator. In each city, a local youth

choir will join the production backing up the cast.

“At a time when our planet is burning from the impact of global warming and

human-made climate catastrophe, Dear Everything is a powerful musical uprising

driven by the visionary voices of youth, gorgeous pop and anthemic music, and

great storytelling urging us to come together to protect our earth and our future.”

- Jane Fonda, actor, author, climate activist & V-Day Board member

Dear Everything marks the first artistic piece centering around climate from V-Day, long

known for its vast survivor-led, grassroots, anti-violence work on college campuses and

in communities – that began with founder V (formerly Eve Ensler’s) play The Vagina

Monologues which revealed the power of art and activism to change culture and

systems. DEAR EVERYTHING was born through the collective synergy of Tony and

Obie Award-winning playwright V (formerly Eve Ensler), the Tony and Obie award

winning/ Terrie and Bradley Bloom Artistic Director of the American Repertory Theater,

Diane Paulus, Grammy and Golden Globe-nominated songwriter Justin Tranter,

Caroline Pennell, Eren Cannata, and Daniel Crean, with contributions by Tony and Obie

Award winner, Idina Menzel.
