He is known for his sensitive, swinging style and regularly appears around the UK with his trio and with some of the best names in UK jazz. His biggest influences in jazz are the piano styles of Oscar Peterson, Bill Evans, Gene Harris, Mulgrew Miller and Erroll Garner. His recent trio album ‘Promise The Moon’ was released on 12 March 2021 to excellent reviews and has been featured on Jazz FM. He returns to the Globe with his trio featuring Abbie Finn on drums and Mick Shoulder on bass, playing material from the album alongside fresh takes on standards and Dean’s original compositions.
