About this Event

Join horror historian Leyla Royale for this special in person! walking tour of strange but true ways Chicagoans have met their end. Based on Leyla's research for her blog Dead in Chicago, this tour contains stories you won't hear on a ghost tour, all researched by Leyla from various Chicago newspaper archives and features tales from the mid 1850s through the 1950s. Not for the faint of heart, topics discussed include M**der, death, disasters, and accidents.


FAQ

  • We'll start & end outside the Palmer House Hotel, on the Monroe side of the street.
  • Both tours will contain some of the same stories, but some different as well!
  • The tour will cover about a mile walking distance, so wear your walking shoes.
  • Rain or shine! Bring appropriate clothing in case of inclement weather.
  • We'll follow CDC guidelines. If the CDC recommends masks outdoors, please bring a mask to wear to participate. (Never a bad idea to wear one, regardless!)
  • Please be vaccinated! If you haven't been vaccinated yet, here are some great resources for finding vaccination centers in Chicago.
