▪️Orphax
@orphax
(electronics, experimental)
Amsterdam based musician and trained drummer Sietse van Erve (Orphax) was introduced to electronic music in the early nineties. After playing around with tracker software for a couple of years, he eventually recorded his first more serious attempts of music with beats and melodies in 1998, though soon lost interest in both these.
He started researching new sounds and new ways of working – always with an organic touch, often incorporating sounds that would be regarded by others as errors or mistakes. Considering life isn’t without errors either. During this search, he found his way into drone and microtonal music. As a result in his most recent work, time and spatiality become more important factors. The goal of the music is for the listener to lose the sense of time and place.
Live this is combined with room for improvisation. This way of working results often in an organic form of drone and minimal music.
▪️MGBG (Marie Guilleray x Bjarni Gunnarsson)
@marie_guilleray @blindni
(voice, live electronics)
MGBG is the collaborative project of Marie Guilleray and Bjarni Gunnarsson. The duo explores diverse musical formats, including fixed-media electronic compositions, improvised performances, site-specific residencies, and experiments with field recordings. Their focus is on blending voice and live electronics through composed and improvised music.
Marie Guilleray is a French composer, vocalist, and sound artist focusing on experimental and electronic music. Her practice explores the interplay between voice and electronics, delving into extended vocal techniques, the augmentation of voice through technology, and the abstract qualities of sound. She is active in free improvisation and creates electronic works for fixed media and live performances. As a PhD candidate at ACPA Leiden, Marie’s research examines the confrontation between voice and electronics. She investigates how this interplay shapes the voice's identity in music, augments its expressive possibilities, and engages concepts of embodiment and disembodiment. Her work seeks to open new perspectives on the voice and contemporary electronic practices.
Bjarni Gunnarsson is a composer and computer scientist from Reykjavík. His work focuses on process-based sound, algorithmic composition, and the interaction between software and musical behaviour. He creates compositions that explore fluid sound structures, dynamic behaviours, and synthetic environments, often integrating machine listening and digital interrupts. Bjarni has presented his research at leading conferences such as ICMC, ICLC, SMC, and xCoAx. His performances span festivals like Tectonics, Rewire, Sonar, and Présences Electroniques, and his music has been released on labels including Vertical Form, Thule, Spezial Material, SUPERPANG, and SØVN. Notable works include Safn 2006–2009, Paths, Lueur, and UPICS. Bjarni is a faculty member at the Institute of Sonology, Royal Conservatory in The Hague, where he teaches algorithmic composition and computer music.

▪️Maggie
@maggie_khorrami
(violin, experimental)
Mehrnaz (Maggie) Khorrami is an experimental musician, sound artist, and sound engineer based
in the Netherlands. She studied Sonology at the Royal Conservatoire of The Hague and has a
background in classical violin and Fine Art.
Her artistic practice includes sound and light installations, collaborative audiovisual projects, and
live electro-acoustic performances. Maggie’s music is characterized by layered dark electronic
textures, powerful harsh noise, and the seamless integration of her voice with a custom-built
electronic violin. She draws inspiration from societal discord, political and social contexts, and the
intricacies of human interaction, creating sonic experiences that evoke emotional depth and
complexity.
In her artistic journey, she pushes the boundaries of traditional violin performance by exploring
experimental techniques and innovative methods. By merging unconventional approaches with
advanced technology, she navigates the chaos and complexity of the modern world, using music
as a medium for both personal and collective expression.
▪️ Lucy Valentine
@capriciousmetal
(short film)
Lucy Valentine is an artist, musician silversmith from the North East, UK. Working primarily in experimental and progressive guitar, field recordings and early music. Lucy’s expansive musical work has covered a range of genres and has been described as the most interesting guitarist in the UK by Under the Radar magazine.
The Sounds of the Silver Spider is an original work exploring the auditory reactions to the process of silversmithing and making a piece of jewellery.
The short film highlights the jeweller’s process and combines a multitude of sound recordings from all aspects of the technique and using a host of microphones to capture the soundscape.
