About this Event

American Church Group of Kansas and Chapel Hill United Methodist Church have teamed up to bring ministries in your area this FREE training.

The workshop will focus on equipping your staff and volunteers with best practices and core principles for de-escalating potentially volatile situations. From calming people down in a crisis to dealing with a potentially dangerous individual, our goal is to increase everyone’s competence and confidence to deal with difficult situations. We will also address the increase in incidents involving mental illness and the unique considerations for helping to keep the individual, yourself, and others safe.

Workshop Presenter: Craig Cable, Regional Director for Colorado and Director of Ministry Safety

When Craig isn’t assisting ministries with their insurance risk management needs, he serves as the leader of the safety team at a large multi-campus ministry in Northern Colorado. He is also a former board member of the Northern Colorado Christian Security Roundtable, a professional tactical trainer, author, and national guest speaker on the topic of church security.

Craig is a sworn peace officer and serves as a Reserve Deputy Sheriff for the patrol division at the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office. In addition to protecting our streets, Craig also serves as a Threat Liaison Officer, Crisis Intervention Team coach, and firearms instructor for the sheriff’s office.

Craig has trained well over one thousand security team members and was the lead developer of the Safe and Secure Church: The Ministry Approach training kit produced in partnership with Group Publishing and Brotherhood Mutual Insurance Company.
