Gather with us Sunday afternoon to explore contact improvisation - on the first Sunday of the month in a more organized session called an Underscore. Cost is $15 for holiday and non-semester sessions - the Dance Place registration desk will be closed, so come straight to the studio. Pay what you can if $15 won't work for you.Our first Sunday of the month Underscore is like a jam but with more explicit organization. Being on time is important so we can start and proceed together. The session includes an orientation - a "talk through" - that describes the score. Please attend the talk-through if you aren't familiar with it. It's presented between 2:00 and 2:40. (Those who are familiar are welcome to hear it again!) For those not attending the talk-through, please be present and have had your arrival process before the opening circle - Assembly - around 2:30. The jam has been happening every Sunday for many years, and all are welcome. All that's necessary is a genuine interest to explore CI and willingness to be mindful of others and yourself. The jam is a rare opportunity for adults to share play for the sake of play - the game is Contact Improvisation, and the players are people curious about moving cooperatively through shared points of contact.
