We hope you'll join us for HANDS’ annual Crafts of Cairo Sale! This is your chance to purchase one-of-a-kind holiday gifts for your loved ones made by artisans at one of our Egyptian partner organizations, the Association for the Protection of the Environment (APE).
This is a job skills training program for women living and working in the garbage recycling community in Cairo. The female artisans at APE learn a marketable skill (weaving, quilting, paper recycling, etc.) and created beautiful products out of scraps of clean fabric, paper, glass, soda can tabs, and single serve coffee pods. Your purchases enable these women to support themselves and build a brighter future for their children!
Where:
St. Mark’s Episcopal Church on Capitol Hill in Washington DC
301 A St SE
Washington, DC 20003
When:
Sunday, December 14th from 1 to 4 pm
(If that time doesn't work for you, you are welcome to join the church congregation earlier in the day. We'll be there starting at 9 am.)
Spread the word, bring friends, and come support women in Cairo's garbage recycling community by purchasing their beautiful crafts for your holiday gifting.
We look forward to seeing you there!
