About this Event

About AYA Educational Institute

For over 25 years Afiya and Wekesa Madzimoyo have shepherded AYA Educational Institute. It has offered courses for adults and youth. Our week-day and weekend youth programs are executed online as a demonstration school for Black middle & high school students and families. We innovate for success and then share what we’ve learned with parents, other educational communities, and institutions dedicated to uplifting our students, their families, our communities, and our people and restoring us to our traditional greatness. The “Melanin The Healer & Science Teacher” Mbongis are one way we share what we have learned! It’s also a way we reinforce to our students their obligation to their parents, our community and our people and the mutual obligation we - adults - have to them

b.Stimulate - Create projects, media, and teaching methods to stimulate our people becoming a science-loving and problem-solving people again

c.Nurture - Take actions to nurture a “science for us” skill set in the age of “artificial intelligence,” “equity-based” science camps, and the “anti-critical race theory” veiled attack on African-centered education.
