Participants will be given an hour each day for lunch on their own. (There are several local lunch options nearby if you do not plan to bring one.)

A certificate of completion and agenda for participants to submit to receive CEUS will be provided.
Participants will also be sent the slides and handouts at least one week before the training date and are responsible for printing their own materials.
Description:
This training equips clinicians and mental health professionals with the skills to assess, diagnose, and treat mental health and developmental disorders in children aged five or younger using the DC: 0-5 Diagnostic Classification of Mental Health and Developmental Disorders of Infancy and Early Childhood, published by Zero to Three.
Certified DC: 0-5 trainers Kelly Betsworth, LISW, Alyssa Caldbeck, LISW, IMH-E®, and Denise Stader, LMHC, CADC, IMH-E® will present the two-day in person training, Using the DC: 0-5: A Comprehensive Approach to Young Children's Mental Health.
Participant Instructions
All participants must have a copy of the DC: 0-5 Diagnostic Classification of Mental Health and Developmental Disorders of Infancy and Early Childhood. To purchase the book, visit the Zero to Three Store. Participants are encouraged to download all necessary materials before the training.
Pre-training materials: The presenters will email participants handouts and homework approximately one week before the training. Additional materials will be provided on the day of the training.
Learning Objectives
By the end of the training, participants will be able to:
- Understand the basics of early childhood development.
- Recognize the importance of using a multigenerational approach to assess young children.
- Evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of diagnosing infants and young children.
- Utilize the five-axis diagnostic system for infants and toddlers.
- Differentiate between the current diagnostic system (DSM-5) and the DC: 0-5 framework.
- Apply the relationship disorder axis to clinical practice.
- Consider stressors affecting young children from a developmental perspective.
