DBIA-KC | Connecting Two Cities: The I-70 Expansion

With the passage of the 2024 budget, the Governor and elected officials of Missouri allocated $2.8 Billion in funding for the Improve I-70 program. With this historic funding it will allow for the addition of a third lane to eastbound and westbound directions of Interstate 70 for nearly 200 miles across the state. By utilizing the design-build process MoDOT was able to quickly award its first I-70 project from Columbia to Kingdom City for this $420 million project just months after the budget was signed into law.
