About this Event
The Capstone Black Tie (Optional) Gala will mark a momentous occasion—the 30th Anniversary of the Dayton Peace Accords, the historic 1995 agreement that brought an end to the Bosnian War and set a global standard for diplomacy and peacebuilding.
Hosted at the National Museum of the United States Air Force on Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio, this distinguished event returns to the very community where peace was brokered three decades ago—just a few miles from the Hope Hotel, where the original negotiations took place.
This evening of reflection and celebration will honor the legacy of international cooperation and diplomacy that began in Dayton, as well as the individuals who continue to champion peace in our time. The highlight of the evening will be the presentation of the Dayton Peace Prize to Ambassador R. Nicholas Burns, immediate past U.S. Ambassador to China and a lifelong Foreign Service Officer whose distinguished career embodies the spirit of global engagement and service.
Guests will include numerous dignitaries, international leaders, and special surprise guests, all gathering to commemorate this historic milestone. The evening will feature live performances by two premier U.S. Air Force Bands, offering a stirring musical backdrop to an event that celebrates both past achievement and future promise.
The Capstone Gala stands as a testament to Dayton’s enduring role as a crossroads of peace, diplomacy, and hope for the world.
