Join the Carson City Park Rangers and Dr. Thomas Herring, Professor of Physics at Western Nevada College, for our first Sun viewing event at Silver Saddle Ranch! Telescopes will be set up around the Red House area and staff will be around to instruct on the Sun's dynamic surface, our solar system, and more!Stop by anytime between 11:30am - 1:30pm. Please remember to bring your questions and dress for the weather. NOTE: This program is weather dependent and may be cancelled due to inclement weather. Backup date is scheduled for February 28, 2026.

Need To Know:
- Minors under 18 must be accompanied by an adult
- Dogs are allowed on a 6 foot leash
- If you or a family member need it, Park Rangers have one Grit Freedom all terrain wheelchair available. If you'd like to request to use this wheelchair during our program, email [email protected]. This request is on a first come first serve basis
- Program may be cancelled due to inclement weather. Backup date is scheduled for February 28, 2026.
