Beat the January blues by jamming with your kids at a daytime music gig! We have a indie - folk double bill with:Witching Waves
Stalwarts of the indie, post-punk and alt-rock scene, Witching Waves have drawn comparisons with Pixies, Sonic Youth and The Cure. Drowned in Sound hailed their debut long-player as one of the best albums of 2014. The band moved to Devon from London when founding band members, drummer Emma Wigham (pictured centre) and guitarist Mark Jasper (pictured left) became parents. They have released four studio albums to date, the most recent in 'Streams And Waterways' was released in December 2023. They are joined by guitarist Estella Adeyeri and bassist Will Fitzpatrick.
Sound of the Sirens
Sound of the Sirens are a singer-songwriting duo based in Devon comprising of Abbe Martin & Hannah Wood. Honing their craft over the past decade, Martin & Wood have cemented themselves as firm favourites as “one of the UK’s finest folk acts” locally and inter/nationally too. Martin (pictured right) plays acoustic and high-strung (Nashville tuning) guitar, mandolin, and bass drum, while partner in crime Wood (pictured left) plays acoustic and electric guitar, tambourine, snare drum, and the piano. The pairs’ musical and vocal dexterity dovetail beautifully on the co-written songs, which range from beautiful, emotive ballads, to up-beat, foot stomping, hands in the air, sing-along anthems.
