*A note from Nick Gunz:
Coming of age in Minneapolis during the '90s shaped my love for both house music and the underground backpack hip-hop scene led by Rhymesayers. This year, for my birthday, we're bringing those two influences together in a big way.
DJ Abilities was the first DJ I ever saw battle, and it blew my mind. I spent years traveling around the Midwest to see him and Eyedea perform. So when I found out he had a side project focused on house music, I knew we had to bring that energy to DayFunk for my birthday. It feels like everythingโs coming full circle.
