About this Event
A Leicester Lo-Fi day out:
Orford Ness - formerly administered by the MOD, which conducted secret military tests during both world wars and the Cold War. The site was selected as the location for the Orford Ness Beacon, one of the earliest experiments in long-range radio navigation. The Beacon was set up in 1929 and used in the pre-war era. In the 1930s Orford Ness was the site of the first purpose-built experiments on the defence system that would later be known as radar. The details for this are still to be finalised. Now owned by the National Trust, Orford Ness is an internationally important coastal nature reserve, with some awesome abandoned war time structures.
There's still a bit of ironing out the details, but the basic plan is to either meet up at Lo-Fi HQ at Bishop Street and then car pool to Orford Ness, or arrange a meeting time and point and folk make their own way there.
The idea is to shoot whichever film/camera combo you deisre with the thought of having an exhibition wof the work produced on the day - gallery to be determined.
There is no payment to us for this event, but there is a National Trust entry fee to pay if you are not a NT member.
Dont sign up for tickets now, we will issue an attendance form at a later date with more details.
