Making Black Herstory Artifacts that stand the test of time
Calling all black American women and queer folks (trans women, cis women, and people who at some point in life identified as female). This artifact-making workshop and bus tour is for you.
The charter bus departs from Ambasador Plaza (Just 15 minutes from Detroit).
Spend the day visiting 2 black historic sites in Canada ( + ), as well as their archives, and the families who preserve them. See a variety of artifacts, including some from key figures in black women's voting history: Mary McLeod Bethune and Shirley Chisholm. Learn the benefits of keeping artifacts with their creators' families. Make an artifact to document your memories of the 2024 election, plus a second artifact for the black Herstory moment of your choice.
