Join us at Garforth Library for day three of the Start-up and Grow programme where we will have 3 excellent sessions, starting with a Business Support Q&A, followed by Tax and Bookkeeping, and finishing with How to Build a Balanced Business.
Important: This event is part of a three-day programme. You can choose to attend one, two, or all three days, depending on what you need.

Tax and Bookkeeping with Simon Young
During this workshop, attendees will be introduced to the fundamental aspects of taxation that new business owners need to understand. You'll receive insights into various taxes, with a focus on the distinctions between sole traders and limited companies. Attendees will be introduced to basic bookkeeping concepts, including the use of spreadsheets, and online accounting packages.
Business Q&A with Gareth Allen
Bring along your business blockers and any tricky questions. We will discuss things as a group, and come up with solutions. Subjects include:
- Sales and Marketing
- Forecasting
- Time Management
- Achieving Financial Security
- Consistency and Motivation
- Contact Management
How to Build a Balanced Business with Ros Jones
In this interactive session, we will look at:
- How looking after your own health can lead to more productivity and efficiency within your business
- Reclaiming balance through leadership
- Recognising your strengths and weaknesses
- Importance of communication styles to get your message across and connect with others.
- Using DISC as an awareness and communication tool
The Start-up and Grow project is being delivered by Leeds City Council and Leeds Libraries, and is part funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF). In West Yorkshire the West Yorkshire Combined Authority leads the implementation of the Fund as part of the Mayor's ambition to make West Yorkshire the best place to work, learn and live.
