25 October - 1 November
The Day of the Dead (el Día de Muertos), is a Mexican holiday where families welcome back the souls of their deceased relatives for a brief reunion that includes food, drink and celebration. A blend of Mesoamerican ritual, European religion and Spanish culture, the holiday is celebrated each year on the 1st and 2nd of November.
This year, Urban Hands is proud again hold our annual Day of the Dead Festival to fill an entire week with events for all ages, celebrating ALL the beautiful cultures of Latin America. The events will be entertaining, educational, and inspirational, so be sure to check this page as we update the schedule with events for the Day of the Dead Festival and Latin Week celebrations.

- Sat. 25 Oct, 12:00 - 16:00 - Piñata Workshop! FREE
Come learn how to make your very own piñata! We will, of course, make some extra ones to fill them with candy and have a little party at the end of the session!

Come and practice your Spanish skills or chat with other Spanish speaking people while you enjoy of Latin-American music along with our delicious coffee, chocolate, cakes and treats.

Jewelry Making Workshop:
Learn to make your own custom necklaces, earrings, pendants and keychains!

Soap Making Workshop:
Learn how to make various types of soaps using different colors, scents, herbs and shapes!
Ages: 13-20
Participants between 7-12 can join accompanied by a grown up

- Sat. 1 Nov, 15:00-19:00, Folken - Tianguis de Día de Muertos - Food and Culture Bazaar. Join us as we celebrate and honor the lives of those who have passed. We will celebrate this beloved Mexican tradition with an art exhibition, altars to commemorate our loved ones, activities for children and families, piñatas and delicious authentic Mexican food.
