Joshua 4:20-24 - 20 It was there at Gilgal that Joshua piled up the twelve stones taken from the Jordan River. 21 Then Joshua said to the Israelites, “In the future your children will ask, ‘What do these stones mean?’ 22 Then you can tell them, ‘This is where the Israelites crossed the Jordan on dry ground.’ 23 For the LORD your God dried up the river right before your eyes, and he kept it dry until you were all across, just as he did at the Red Sea when he dried it up until we had all crossed over. 24 He did this so all the nations of the earth might know that the LORD ’s hand is powerful, and so you might fear the LORD your God forever.”In Joshua 4 God tells His people through the use of stones to:
1.) THINK about all the wonderful things the Lord had done for them
2.) THANK Him for those things
3.) TELL each other about them
You see it is so easy to forget about the Lord’s goodness in our lives if we are not intentional about remembering it. And it can lead to fear and discouragement when we let this happen. But when we choose to acknowledge God’s past faithfulness it will lead to a present trust in Him in our lives no matter what is going on.
As such, we will gather at church as a family on Sunday, December 29 at 10:AM to THINK about and TELL others of God’s goodness and faithfulness in our lives in 2024 and THANK Him for it!
