WHAT TO EXPECT
Seebergkopf rises directly above Bayrischzell and is surrounded by valleys, hence its isolated position, offers one of the most beautiful views over the Bavarian pre-Alps. The over 250-year-old, listed Niederhoferalm in the middle of gentle green meadows invites on the way down for typical Bavarian cuisine as well as coffee and cake.
TOUR
We start at Bayrischzell train station soon leaving the town behind on a beautiful path in many serpentines uphill through the forest and in a long crossing to the Neuhütte. Here the trail branches off and leads across sunny meadows on to the summit cross (1538 m). On the way down we take a slightly different route passed Niederhoferalm, where we have a break for food & drink. From here we go walk through a valley back to Bayrischzell.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
You need to be able to walk comfortably on narrow hiking paths uphill for 3 hours in total and for one hour without a longer break. The whole hike will take approximately 5 hours of walking with shorter sit-down breaks every hour, a longer break at the summit, and a one-hour sit-down break in a hut that serves food and drinks.
Length: 14 km, 750 meter ascent
Duration: 5 hrs walking, 10 hrs total

My name is Johanna, and I am a qualified UIMLA mountain leader, and a qualified yoga teacher (RYT 200) based in Munich. I founded Shanti Treks in 2023 to create a hiking experience that brings together what I am passionate about. First, I love being in the mountains and experiencing new routes off the beaten tracks. Second, it is about connecting the body and mind with the nature around me and observing it with all my senses. And third, it is about bringing like-minded people together and forming new bonds.
I run dayhikes on weekends near Munich, as well as multi-day hiking weekends, multi-day trekking weeks& multi-day hiking and yoga retreats in the German, Austrian and Italian Alps. I also offer a tour in Nepal this fall around the Manaslu.
Note that I will be taking photos and short videos during the hike, which may be used on the homepage and on the social media accounts of Shanti Treks. By signing up to the hike it is assumed that there is consent for the photos and videos to be published.
