What to expect
In between the two lakes of Tegernsee and Schliersee there are a few easily accessible peaks, such as the Gindelalmschneid (1242m). It is a beaitiful hike over forest roads and hiking paths to the summit with a hut just below that invites for lunch on our way down. The road back to the valley makes it a comortable descent to the train station.
Tour
We start at Hausham train station soon leaving the town behind on a narrow hiking path that leads in serpentines uphill to the peak of Huberspitz. From here we follow a wider path along the ridge to the hut of Gindelalm. From here it is a short narro hiking path to the peak of Gindelalmschneid. On our way back with stop at the hut for lunch before we take a wide road down all the way to the train station.
Physical requirements
You need to be able to walk comfortably on narrow hiking paths uphill for 3 hours in total with a small break every hour. The whole hike will take approximately 5 hours of walking with shorter sit-down breaks every hour and a longer break at the hut just after the summit.
Length: 14 km, 600 meter ascent

My name is Johanna, and I am a qualified UIMLA mountain leader, and a qualified yoga teacher (RYT 200) based in Munich. I founded Shanti Treks in 2023 to create a hiking experience that brings together what I am passionate about. First, I love being in the mountains and experiencing new routes off the beaten tracks.
Second, it is about connecting the body and mind with the nature around me and observing it with all my senses. And third, it is about bringing like-minded people together and forming new bonds.
I run dayhikes on weekends near Munich, as well as multi-day hiking weekends, multi-day trekking weeks & multi-day hiking and yoga retreats in the German, Austrian and Italian Alps. I also offer a tour in Nepal this fall around the Manaslu.
Note that I will be taking photos and short videos during the hike, which may be used on the homepage and on the social media accounts of Shanti Treks. By signing up to the hike it is assumed that there is consent for the photos and videos to be published.
