This is one of our bigger events planned as part of our 125th Anniversary, and something that our volunteer firefighters are all pretty excited about — and hoping to have great participation in from the youngsters in our community — that will will take the encouragement of the parents/guardians and families of the youngsters. In cooperation with Central Berks Fire Company of Centerport, our first annual Day at the Firehouse is planned for Saturday May 17th, 2025!!!
Registration is open for students ages 10-17 residing in the Schuylkill Valley School District

This will be a fantastic opportunity for school-aged students to come explore our apparatus & tools, meet and interact with our local heroes through a series of hands-on activities and demonstrations, and learn what it’s like to be a firefighter.
Volunteering as a firefighter in their high school and young adult years is a fantastic way to serve the community doing something fun and adventurous, and although firefighting does have its risks, the rewards are much greater. Not to mention how appreciated they will be by the community for doing a job that is vital to savings lives and property. This will also be an excellent opportunity for us to engage them and offer them encouragement to join this unique field early in their young lives - many veteran firefighters started as teenagers!
Siblings and families are welcomed to observe at their leisure and participate in the CPR training sessions - and everyone is invited for dinner and a movie to end the day!!
