About this Event
Dawn Ellerbeck is celebrating the release of her first solo album, Gone Again. The band will feature Dawn Ellerbeck (guitar and vocals), Madeline Roorda (violin), Amanda Malachesky (mandolin), and Travis Hanna (upright bass).
Primarily known in the Bay Area as an upright bass player, Dawn is also a folk singer/songwriter with deep roots in small-town Iowa. Raised by a coal-working dad and a choir-directing mom, she grew up listening to her parents’ sweet harmonies at church and the occasional wedding. Her songs stir up memories of home and love gone wrong with vocals reminiscent of her bluegrass folk heroes, Hazel Dickens and Alice Gerrard.
Special guests, Little Manzanita, will be performing an opening set of bluegrass-inspired music complete with tight harmonies and soulful melodies. Madeline Roorda (violin) and Adeline Chaney (guitar) are college students who grew up going to local festivals and are proudly carrying the torch of traditional folk music into the next generation.
Tickets are $18 in advance and $20 at the door general admission; $15 for students with ID. Children under 12 are free. Advance tickets are available here, or if the show is not sold out, you may purchase your tickets at the door before the show.
Doors open one half hour before show time. We accept cash or Venmo only at the door.
