Digitization in recent years has improved access to land ownership records held by Archives New Zealand and Land Information New Zealand. Across the two institutions the history of a single parcel of land can be traced from current ownership right back to the beginning. Methods and examples, with a focus on the Wellington region, will be used to illustrate how to find documents from various time periods.Dawn Chambers is a volunteer researcher whose passion is to learn about 19th century New Zealand manuscripts wherever they may be found and to share that knowledge with others via Pandora Research.
