Davila 666 (Puerto Rico) \/ Las Nubes (Miami) \/ Ladrones (ATL\/PR) Describing themselves as like "Menudo on drugs," San Juan, Puerto Rico's Davila 666 combine Stooges-like garage rock fire with the occasional sugary pop melody. The seven -- not six, surprisingly -- Davilas include singer/tambourine player Sir Charles, multi-instrumentalist AJ, guitarists/vocalists Miss Davila and Johnny Otis, drummer/guitarist/vocalist San Pablo, percussionist/vocalist Panda, and guitarist/drummer/vocalist Gigi. Their theatrical live show -- which includes themes, props, costumes, and dancers -- won them fans in the States when they toured with the Black Lips and the King Khan & BBQ Show. Davila 666's self-titled U.S. debut was released in summer 2008 via In the Red Records. After a somewhat quiet year in 2009, the band came back strong in 2010, releasing an EP on Rob's House Records and singles on Norton (covering the Rolling Stones' "She's a Rainbow") and Vice (a split with the Dirtbombs). In 2011 the band's second album, Tan Bajo, hit the shelves; the group also cut a live EP for Jack White's Third Man Records while touring the United States in support. In 2014, Davila 666 collected several out of print singles and EPs into the compilation album Poco Años, Muchos Daños.
Existing in a transcontinental limbo from the tropical island of Puerto Rico to the dirty streets of Atlanta, Ga, the four member collective gang known as Ladrones is a full frontal punk rock and roll assault.Started in 2016 via the collaborative efforts of guitarist José Rivera and vocalist Valeria Sánchez below the tropic of cancer in San Juan, saw various line up changes prompting the duo moving to Atlanta. The band signed with the long running punk label Slovenly Records releasing their first s/t album and a single followed by several tours. The line up solidified further with the addition of local Atlanta main stays Paul Hernandez (Mongo) on Bass and Sam Adams (Seagulls)Combining buzzsaw guitar riffs, barreling bass attacks with gut punching drums… all topped off by the snarling soulful vocals courtesy of front woman Valeria Sanchez all showcased in her native colloquial Spanish dialect, Ladrones brings a fresh kaleidoscopic wall of proto punk fueled fury and energy. Fully charged.RIYL : Ramones New York Dolls The Stooges The Gun Club Los Saicos Vice Squad, Jay Reatard
Since 2017, Miami, FL-based Las Nubes has played their undeniably catchy, multilingual alternative/dream pop/shoegaze all over the damn place - bars, basements, festivals, storefronts... The current quartet of Ale Campos (guitar/vocals), Emile Milgrim (drums), Alumine Soto (guitar), and Cuci Amador (bass/vocals) forge a relentless energy founded on their collective DIY roots throughout South Florida and Latin America. Throughout multiple lineups, releases, tours, and even a name change, they’ve only just begun scratching the surface.
