About this Event

Author David Szalay has been named one of The Telegraph's Top 20 British Writers Under 40 and Granta magazine's 2013 list of the Best of Young British Novelists. Originally from Montreal, David grew up in the UK and studied at Oxford University. He won the Betty Trask Award for his first novel, London and the South-East, along with the Geoffrey Faber Memorial Prize. After that he wrote two further novels: Innocent (2009) and Spring (2011) and his fourth novel, All That Man Is, was longlisted for The Man Booker Prize 2016. David has also written a range of dramas for BBC Radio 4, which he developed into his 2019 short story collection, Turbulence, which explores a series of interconnected stories about 12 people travelling around the globe.
