Our Bayard Rustin Center for Social Justice is proud to (re)present our LIVE IN-PERSON BENEFIT CONCERT featurin' folk musician extraordinaire David Brahinsky and Friends (The Roosevelt String Band), with David, Noemi Bolton, Guy Derosa and Phil McCauliffe & even more delightful, this show hosted by our good friends Jo & Liz! This is a very special evening as it will be an "After Labor Day, Labor Day Special: Songs That Celebrate Working People of All Ages, Places and Times." A local legend & inspirational figure in the community for decades, David is a singer, songwriter, & guitarist who has been playin' music from the folk tradition~ from the Child Ballads to Bob Dylan~ for over forty years as one of the founders of the Roosevelt Arts Project & has served as the lead singer for The Roosevelt String Band for the last 25 years. David has been presentin' his incredibly popular First Friday Folk series at our BRCSJ Social Justice Power Hour & now we are thrilled to welcome all y'all to witness the musical magic live & in-person.
Tickets for this benefit concert will be simply pay-what-you-can at the door & all proceeds from this very special show benefit our very much in need Bayard Rustin Center for Social Justice, an educational bridge, community activist center, & queer safe-space for our LGBTQIA kids, our intersectional families, & all our beautifully diverse folks, connecting our disparate communities, both locally & nationally.
We will also be live-streamin' the concert for those who don't live close enough to join us live & you can still support the Center by donatin' whatever is within your means & within your hearts to help us create that extraordinary new home our community needs & deserves OUR SAFE-SPACES MORE NECESSARY THAN EVER!
