About this Event

Dave is a recording artist presently enjoying chart success with two of his songs being played throughout the southern United States, "Anytime You're Close To Me" and "In The Backseat With The Radio On." On the international scene his reggae song "A Good Jamaican Woman" based on his Jamaican heritage, is receiving favorable reviews worldwide.

Dave’s approach to music is comparable to a person who speaks multiple languages. Says Dave, "If its possible to be fluent in several languages, and if music lives within you the same way, why limit yourself?"

He is an author and songwriter, credited with writing the song, 'Stand Up America," which many have hailed to be a contemporary national anthem.

His musical experience spans a wide spectrum of genres from calypso, to reggae, soul, folk and country music. His most recent songwriting collaboration with Rock and Roll icon, Jorma Kaukonen of Jefferson Airplane and Hot Tuna spawned the now classic, "Birds & Sleeping Dogs."

In 2006, after the original lead singer left the group, Dave became the lead singer and record arranger/producer for internationally acclaimed a cappella group, The Persuasions. Their most recent album, the critically acclaimed "Ladies And Gentlemen, Barenaked Ladies and The Persuasions," was the 2017 double vynil album release collaboration with the Canadian Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame group. Dave was background vocal arranger for the album.

A man of many hats, Dave is also the creator and director of two currently nationally touring tribute productions. "Soul Of America - Music Made In The USA," which features the music of soul legends, Wilson Pickett, Otis Redding, Ray Charles, Etta James and Aretha Franklin and "Shadows Of The 60s," a Motown Tribute production. He is an entertainer with over four decades of experience both onstage and behind the scenes as a show producer.

In his early years, the mid to late 80s he was a member of the Hall Of Fame group, the Drifters, which featured two original members, Charlie Thomas and Elsbeary Hobbs.

During his tenure with the Drifters they toured with Dick Clark on his final American Bandstand tour in 1989 and appeared on the 1985 NBC television special "Motown Returns To The Apollo," in the show's opening production number, "Battle Of The Bands" which featured The Four Tops, Temptations, Manhattans and The cadillacs.
