Our Story:
In 2006, my parents took me to Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University Class with them (I was 13-years-old). In 2012, Jason and I took the class as an engaged couple. In 2014, we put 20% down on our first house. We saved an emergency fund, saved a down payment on our first house, AND paid off our house early! It took us 88 months (or 7 years 4 months) to pay it off. BUT - that being said, this did not come without a LOT of blood, sweat, tears, hard work, sacrifice, and patience. Keep in mind this was despite being teen parents. Along the way, we cash flowed college, a car, a truck, and a van, bought into my brother-in-law's business of 10 years, had Lincoln, and paid for half of a business shed. This took us remodeling/building and selling 6 houses. This took us moving 3 times in 6 years. This took me feeling like a single mom while Jason was working his rear end off every week night and every weekend every time we were in the middle of a house. This took saying NO to some things and saving. This. Took. Grit! Now the grass feels different! We paid off around $345,000!
