Dave Keller is one of the premier torchbearers for Soul and Roots music. Joining Dave this evening will be David Hudson on drums and Brady Kish on bass.
Keller's live-wire shows are unforgettable, having learned his craft directly from the masters. Legendary figures like Ronnie Earl, Mighty Sam McClain, Robert Ward. His close friend and mentor, Mississippi Soul/Blues master Johnny Rawls, calls Keller “The Soul Healer.” Roots music icon Taj Mahal has been enthusiastic too, telling Keller, “I really like what you do.”
Born in Worcester, MA, Keller lived in Boston and Eastern WA, before moving to VT in 1993. From that base, he has performed at many of the U.S.'s largest festivals (e.g., Ben & Jerry's One World One Heart Festival, North Atlantic Blues Fest, PA Blues Fest, Discover Jazz Fest) and esteemed venues (e.g., B.B. King's, Biscuits & Blues, and Chicago's Navy Pier).
Keller has released ten albums of almost entirely original material, earning glowing reviews from practically every Soul/Roots publication in existence (e.g., No Depression, Americana Highways, Downbeat, Glide, Cashbox, Rootstime, Paris Move).
