Catch Dave Favours & The Roadside Ashes when they launch their third LP, Service Station Chicken at the Junkyard in Maitland on Sunday, January 18. The album is easily the most realised in the band’s career and is the perfect showcase for their unique blend of Oz indie rock meets twangy alternative country. According to Favours, “I’ve always loved albums that don’t subscribe to any particular style. We’re often put in the alt-country pigeonhole because at times we have acoustic guitars and pedal steel - there’s dobro and violin on this record as well. But we also pride ourselves in being able to deliver four-on-the-floor rock’n’roll – some call it cowpunk. A Saturday night gig can have a very different feel to a Sunday afternoon show and we’re always mixing it up. I wanted this album to represent that.”Joining them all the way from the U.S.A. is singer/songwriter Tim Easton with full band. Tim is returning to Australia to celebrate the early release of his brand-new album, Firehorse. Known for his powerful blend of folk, blues, and rock, Easton has built a reputation as a modern troubadour whose songs balance tradition with fresh energy, unflinching honesty, and timeless storytelling.
