Award-winning Edmonton artist Dave Babcock has earned his reputation as one of Canada’s finest saxophonists, his soulful playing steeped in the living traditions of jazz and blues. A resourceful and incredibly versatile musician, he’s equally at home on stage and in the recording studio. Dave has performed in concert halls, live venues and at music festivals across Canada and is a first-call session player, appearing on hundreds of albums over his career. In addition to his hard swinging Jump Orchestra and his blues-based band The Nightkeepers, Dave’s an active member of Edmonton’s jazz community leading small group projects paying tribute to soul jazz artists like Stanley Turrentine and Eddie Harris.
