Two workshops for music visualization will occur at STPLN (at the new location at Malmöhusvägen 5), followed by concerts featuring showcased techniques. Participants in the workshop must register in the link below (note: link will be available soon), and are encouraged to bring their own laptops if they want in order to follow along. The first workshop on 09.11.2024 will feature the methodologies of Stephen Holmes (aka EBlo) as well as Æterveder.
EBlo's (aka (Stephen Holmes) workshop will cover producing simple effective visuals by using stock footage and effects and color grading. Stephen uses both Canva and Davinci Resolve.. If you want to follow along please bring a laptop with free version of Davinci and create a Canva account. The workshop will focus on how to make visuals for a piece of music that can be used on social media or live performance.
Ætervader will present their max/msp reactive visuals setup and the design process within a limeted experience, CPU power and time budget.
UPDATE: Sadly, Ætervader will be unable to attend. Instead, Paul Khadra will be taking his place.
The second workshop on 30.11.2024 will feature Simon David Rydén (aka supermarket_sallad), whose workshop will cover audio reactivity and real time visuals. Simon mainly works in the program Touchdesigner by Derivative. If you want to follow along please bring a laptop with the program downloaded.* The workshop will mainly focus on concepts of working with visuals for audio - but can get as granular and technical as the participants want.
*There is a free version that will be more than enough for this workshop. No prior knowledge is necessary, but feel free to get acquainted with the program before the workshop. We will also talk about alternatives to Touchdesigner.
