About this Event
Interested in learning about data analytics? Let's take a free online course together in a welcoming space!
We will meet in-person every Thursday afternoon, February 6 - May 1 2025, 1:30-3:00 PM (12 sessions) at North York Central Library in Toronto, Canada. Note: There will be no session on March 13.
A learning circle is a study group, guided by library staff, for people who want to take a free online course together in a supportive and welcoming environment.
In this 12-week learning circle, we will work through The Data Analytics Essentials course from Cisco Networking Academy. We will explore the fundamental tools of a data analyst, including how to:
- transform, organize and visualize data with spreadsheet tools like Excel
- query data from a relational database using SQL
- improve data presentations using business intelligence tools like Tableau
Participants are expected to commit to the duration of the course and attend sessions on a weekly basis.
Learners who complete the course will be able to:
- earn a digital badge
- download a certificate of completion
Organizations all over the world recognize the value of analytics. Together, we'll learn about the essential tools used in this field.
