Susanne, a single mother in her late twenties, lives a monotonous life. Every morning she takes her daughter Jenny to kindergarten. Afterwards, she pursues an unsatisfying job as a punch press operator. In the evenings, there is housework and occasional trips to the disco with her old circle of friends. Frustrated by this monotony, Susanne quits her job without any perspective of what to do. On one of her disco nights, she meets engineer Thomas (Roman Kaminski), who falls in love with her. New problems come her way: daughter Jenny falls ill, a suitable new job cannot be found and she gets into financial difficulties. In her distress, Susanne reports her bike stolen. Susanne, jeune mère monoparentale de presque trente ans, mène une vie monotone. Chaque matin, elle emmène sa fille Jenny au jardin d'enfants. Ensuite, elle exerce un travail peu satisfaisant d'estampilleuse. Le soir, elle enchaîne les tâches ménagères et les sorties occasionnelles en discothèque pour retrouver son cercle d'ami.e.s. Frustrée par cette monotonie, Susanne quitte son travail, sans vraiment avoir d'idée quoi faire quand elle rencontre l'ingénieur Thomas (Roman Kaminski), qui tombe amoureux d'elle. De nouveaux problèmes surviennent : sa fille Jenny tombe malade, elle ne parvient pas à trouver un nouveau travail qui lui convienne et se retrouve en difficulté financière. Dans sa détresse, Susanne déclare le vol de son vélo. Une escroquerie à l'assurance en dilettante qui ne reste pas longtemps sans être découverte... - Source : Fondation DEFA
