Mark your calendars and get your freak-out gear on because on Friday, November 21st Jacksonville, Florida-based singer/guitarist/songwriter Daryl Hance returns to Crawfordville for an 8pm show at the Palaver Tree Theater. He is out supporting his latest release, last year’s Devil’s Millhopper, which has been described as “a swamp-goth noir psychedelic blues-holler masterpiece”. Devil’s Millhopper is fiery blend of old-school 1960s and 1970s guitar-driven groove rock-and-roll, phased-out psychedelic soul, and uncut Northeast Florida swamp funk and inland blues. Some folks may remember Daryl’s guitar and slide playing as being a defining sound as the original guitarist of Mofro before he ventured out on his own back in the summer of 2010. Since his departure, he has released four pretty stellar highly-acclaimed independent albums - Hallowed Ground in 2011, Land Of Trembling Earth in 2014, Wild Blue Iris in 2016, and his latest, Devil’s Millhopper, in 2024.
