About this Event
Part two of our mending series with Ravenna Koenig, this time focusing on darning!
Friend of the space Ravenna Koenig - journalist by day, mending enthusiast and expert (in our opinion) by other days - will be teaching us how to mend our own clothing items so that they can live on.
This will be a cozy night of learning, focused on darning. Darning is more or less a patch you eave into the fabric of your garment, using yarn or thread. There arent hard rules about when to use a darn over a patch. It's more common to darn knits like sweaters and patch woven materials like jeans, but you could use either technique on either material.
This event is for all skill levels, no experience necessary, and no need to have attended the first event.
We will have all the supplies you will need to darn your clothes, but you are welcome to bring your own supplies as well. Please bring something to mend! We will provide some drinks and snacks, and feel free to hit the food trucks outside for dinner beforehand!
