Sydney/Gadigal-based Darling Street have been working hard on the scene for several years, releasing music that meditates on the past and present versions of themselves, and looks to the future with a sense of reckless optimism. Inspired by the heroes of rock and pop of the 60’s and 70’s, the group have roots in drunken cover gigs in the iconic pubs of Sydney’s nightlife hotspots. Over time, the group crafted their own tracks and progressively developed an extensive discography of songs they believed would get the crowd going. Paired with a live performance that evokes memories of the 80’s Australian pub rock scene, the band are rapidly coming into themselves as a collective. The group, comprised of frontman Seamus Field, drummer Sophie Lawrence, guitarist and singer Paddy O’Dwyer, bassist Emma Smith, and guitarist Oliver Hahn, are stoked to be joining the Oxford Art Factory Birthday line-up for their biggest show yet. They are amped to play all their new high-energy rock tracks and intense ballads set for release later this year.
