Tickets £67.50 per team available at:https://www.tickettailor.com/events/wendigoevents1/1910436
Team up with a friend* and join us for two days of narratively driven Heresy antics.
One ticket covers a team of two.
The Lore
Vanville IV, once a thriving port, now lies in ruins - torn apart by the gravitational forces precipitated by the arrival of the rogue planet Dark Sentry. Forces loyal to the Warmaster successfully cordoned off the now disintegrated planet, laying waste to loyalist forces as they rush to make planetfall on the newly materialized anomaly.
It is vital that the mechanism that allows Dark Sentry to slip through the warp and arrive within a systems Mandeville point is not allowed to fall into the traitors’ hands.
The Details
Four narrative games spread over two days.
Prize support from @wendigoforge3D and The Outpost for:
Top three Professionally Painted Armies (you're a commission painter or you’re a painter submitting an army that has run two or more award previously)
Top three Hobbyist Painted Armies (all us regular mortals)
Best submitted battle report
Please note that, though tickets are transferable, no refunds will be issued for this event.
List building:
Each team is to bring 3,500 points in total, this need not be equally divided between teams
Restrictions:
•Lords of War cap is 875 points across both players - no Titans please
•Legion Seeker Squads are limited to 5 models per unit
•Vanus Infocyte Assassins are not fun, so none of those please
•Named characters are a yes, limited to 1 per player, no need to reserve in advance
•Primarchs are busy elsewhere, probably punishing people who think Infocytes are cool
Please bear in mid this might be some player’s first events, there are no prizes for ‘winning’
Working as a team:
•Reactions will be per team, calculated in the following manner
•2 base
•Plus any additional allowances you unlock (i.e. if you both bring Master of the Legion you’ll get two more)
•Beneficial effects may target your partner’s model unless some restriction says otherwise
•e.g. you can use your nuncio-vox to test against your partner’s chaplain’s cool to unpin
•e.g. you can’t cast Call of the Wind on your buddy’s Gal Vorbak as they don’t have the White Scar’s trait (also WTAF are you thinking)
Cover
Luke and I have decided that 3.0 cover rules are about as much fun as sleeping in a bed full of cornflakes
For the event, default cover rules will be:
•Medium and heavy are terrain interferes with line of site. Models inside such terrain may draw line of site out of the area and may have line of site drawn to them. Units outside of a piece of medium and heavy area terrain may not draw line of site through it.
•Non-area terrain (walls, wrecked vehicles etc.) provide a 6+ cover save to models in base contact with the terrain piece.
•In all cases, treat terrain as its actual height - no stratosphere piercing conifers are present on the Dark Sentry.
•You can K*ll what you can’t see
If in doubt, assume all area terrain is medium (5+)
Other stuff
We do not expect you to submit lists, we do expect you to have a legal list you can share upon request of your opponent or an EO
Missions will be released on the day, all we can say now is that the planet will be in flux, intelligent characters and scientific equipment might prove particularly useful
Vanville IV contained esoteric mechanicum knowledge - additional equipment will be made available both factions. Details will follow closer to the event.
If you know this is likely to be your first event, please let @phosphexfanboy know – he’ll team you up with someone friendly
If you are happy to help out a novice team on their first game, please let @phosphexfanboy know, he’ll set you up with some noobs to massa… help mentor
Please ensure your entire army is painted to tabletop standard, if you’re not sure whether it is then please get in touch with @wendigo_forge3d
*Or a Word Bearer player.
