About this Event
Girls in Tech Switzerland has teamed up with the Advisory Council for Foreigners of the City of Zurich for a unique event about empowering women with a migration background in tech. 🎉
Switzerland is challenged with a shortage of skilled workers, particularly in the IT sector, where women are underrepresented. A promising approach lies in discovering talent among immigrant women who bring not only technical qualifications but also a unique perspective. In order to close this gap and promote diversity, highlighting female role models and a variety of possible career paths are essential.
This event aims to make a positive contribution to promoting diversity in the IT industry in Zurich and beyond by highlighting the inspiring stories of women in tech with a migration background and to showcase programs supporting immigrant women living in Switzerland on their path into the tech industry.
We also want to increase awareness among stakeholders in the tech industry around the potential of women with a migration background to contribute solving the skills shortage, and discuss the unique challenges faced by immigrant women in tech, including language barriers, cultural differences, corporate environments, as well as legal and administrative hurdles, on top of stereotypes and biases.
This event is for you if...
