Mega Mango: (Philadelphia, PA)
In 2018 Mega Mango released their debut single, You Spent All Your Love. While it gained significant traction with the indie rock community, this success would be short-lived.
The pressures of young adulthood, compounded by a global pandemic, forced the band into a 2 year hiatus. In the midst of quarantine, members were scattered across the country. It seemed like Mega Mango was over just as soon as it had started.
Despite this, vocalist Crow Costello (they/them) and guitarist Alex Spagnolia (he/him) remained close in Philly. In the depths of an epidemic, they began recording what would become Mega Mango’s comeback singles.
In 2021, the band returned with their first new song in 2+ years: Boggle. With a new sound came a new lineup. Original bassist Niko Jones (he/him) [of Rubenstein Drive-By] moved back to rejoin the group. Drummer Sam Poll (he/him) - a long time fan of the band - was recruited to finalize the lineup.
The subsequent Fun and Games EP marked a bittersweet (and board-game-themed) departure from the group’s youth. Duly, their new single - Sheets - exposits a maturation of their playful sound and a return to their indie rock roots.
Daphne Eckman (Annapolis, MD)
Daphne Eckman is a 22-year old math-folk (indie rock meets math rock meets indie folk) singer-songwriter from Annapolis, Maryland. She creates catharsis through meticulously-crafted songs spun from influences including Radiohead, Big Thief, Phoebe Bridgers, and Madison Cunningham. Eckman's band devotes every moment on stage to connection through careful arrangement and dynamic performance. Daphne Eckman isn't sorry about making you cry: in fact, she encourages it.
