The Danvers DPW will be hosting its 4th Town Wide Clean Up Day to help celebrate earth day! This years event will be held on Saturday, April 26, 9:00 am-12:00 pm. All town groups are encouraged to participate, including schools, youth leagues, neighborhood associations, clubs, Boy Scout and Girl Scout troops, churches, temples, and any other small group OR even individuals who wish to join this great community-building event. The benefits are threefold: While helping to beautify the town, we’re promoting proper disposal practices, and helping to combat the effects littering has on the environment.
Last year we had over 250 volunteers participate and 35 sites around town were cleaned. In total volunteers collected over 2,000 pounds of litter! We are hoping to beat these numbers this year, and with your help we can!
Here's how to get involved:
- Organize your group (or plan to go solo), then choose a town-owned area of special interest to you Popes Landing, Sandy Beach, and John George Park to name a few
- Sign up, on the town website: https://www.danversma.gov/827/2025-Town-Wide-Clean-Up.
DPW will provide supplies, including gloves and bags, as well as final clean up of bags.
Not available on April 26? If you or your group cannot work on April 26, you can still participate. Just send an email to [email protected] expressing your interest in participating.
DPW staff will complete the cleanup Monday, April 28, by collecting all garbage bags and large de-bris at designated pickup locations.
