Canberra’s favourite punk festival - Dansonfest - returns to The Baso on Ngunnawal/Ngambri Country on Saturday 26 April 2025 and is excited to announce Press Club (Naarm/Melbourne) as its first headliner. After a hiatus of several years, Dansonfest returned to The Baso in 2024 and was all about the comeback and a reunion for friends of The Ginger Ninja. In 2025, it’s all about the re-establishment of the festival as an annual fixture on Canberra’s punk rock calendar, with support from the Australian Government’s Revive Live initiative.
Press Club will be joined on stage by artists from up and down the east coast, including Steel City All-stars (Dharawal/Wollongong), Amends (Dharug/Western Sydney), Bouddica (Muluubinba/Newcastle) and Dansonfest favourites from Gadigal/Sydney, Nerdlinger and Ebolagoldfish.
It wouldn’t be a Dansonfest though, without The Ginger Ninja’s old mates from his hometown punk community in Canberra, with reunion shows on the cards from Lamexcuse and Super Best Friends.
There’s plenty more acts and activities to be announced, plus rumours of an appearance by one of Nicky’s favourite bands of all time, so stay tuned, raise a beer and say, “Cheers” or more appropriately, “Ted Danson”!
